Gerald and I had a great time at Abundant Springs. And, the kids had a great time at home with Miss Brenda! A huge thank you to her for taking care of the kids during that time. The last two days we have unpacked, done laundry, and now repacked for our trip tomorrow. We are leaving in the morning for Cody's wedding and then on to my sister's house for a bit of a holiday. So there will not be a new post for about 10 days. We are looking forward to the wedding and some R&R. See you after that!

Summer Vacation Starts Today!
It is a cool, cloudy, rainy day today but summer vacation has started for us!!! Yep, we finished school today. Actually, Olivia was inspired yesterday to finish all her work. The boys decided to follow suit today and completed all their work. How does it feel???? Excellent!!!! We are very excited to have finished first, second and fourth grade. They worked very hard all year and we are going to celebrate tonight by going out for supper before Andrew's soccer game.
Andrew's first game was Tuesday evening. Gerald and Olivia went to the game while I went with Caleb to his practice. Andrew played goalie the first half and defense the second half. They won the game and that is always an encouraging way to start the season.

And so about that memo we didn't get.... Remember this post? Take a look at the current picture I took today.
Yes, you are seeing a third house for sale down the street. I guess the race is on to see which one will sell first. Lots of opportunity to get to know new people coming up!!!
Off to get ready to go out for supper with my family,

Baseball, Art and Soccer
Tonight was Caleb's first baseball game. He was so excited to play today that when he got dressed this morning he put on his uniform. I told him he could wait until later in the day to wear it. He had a great game!! He played center field the first half of the game and short stop the second half. He had a hit each time he was up to bat. It was fun to watch!!

Earlier in the day the kids had an art afternoon with their home school group. Andrew took two sessions of drawing. Caleb made a bird feeder and a fishing game. Olivia also made the bird feeder and had one session of card making.

It has been a full day running from one thing to another. We went from school to lunch to art to soccer practice for Andrew to Caleb's game. Tomorrow is Andrew's first soccer game in Niverville. And so begins the fun summer sport season!!!!!!

Tree Fort Addition # ??????
Last night Gerald and the kids were dreaming up another idea to add to the tree fort. Right after breakfast this morning they all went off to the hardware store to purchase the needed items. As soon as they came home they got to work.

So what is the new feature? In Andrew's words, "It is a pulley system when we bring up stuff, an elevator when dad hauls us up".
While the kids enjoyed the afternoon outside with their favorite babysitter Gerald and I had a date to the city. As we were sitting in the restaurant waiting for our food I asked him what he would have been doing today if he had gone to Mexico. His response? "Not enjoying a date with my wife!" How blessed I am to have him here instead! I love you Gerald!!!!
