After a month we figured it was time to go visit the downtown plaza. So yesterday we went. Too bad it has taken us so long to get there. We parked and spent about an hour walking around looking in the shops. Gerald bought the boys soccer t-shirts from some of the Mexican soccer teams. Then we went to the plaza. While Gerald and I sat on a bench the kids ran around, tried to climb trees, and played on the gazebo structure. It was relaxing and very enjoyable. It made me sorry that it had taken us so long to get there.
Now it is Thursday night - Gerald is once again gone. That means it is computer time for me :) - as well as doing the night routine with the kids. Once again it has been a very busy day. I spent all afternoon in the kitchen and doing laundry (moving it out of the rain and then back into the sun). I made Banana Bread, brownies, and Raspberry Jello Salad. I also made meatloaf and mashed potatoes for supper. We are hosting the small group for supper tomorrow. I am actually nervous about it. I had a hard time deciding what to serve. Do I try something Mexican or stick with something I am comfortable with? In the end we decided on Spaghetti, the jello salad, garlic bread, corn and brownies for dessert. Tomorrow after school I will spend the afternoon cleaning. It starts at 8 but we usually don't eat until 9 pm with the study after. Gerald is leading tomorrow.
There were many more items we could have listed on the previous post, but one that needs to be mentioned is that it seems everybody has cell phones, far more than we see in Canada. Even when we were out in Santo Tomas many of the youth and adults alike had cell phones.
It poured for what seemed like a long time today. After the lightning had stopped the kids went outside and sat on the curb and played in the water as it ran down the street.
School it going very well. Olivia is starting to read simple words (of course she thinks she is doing amazing. She told Gerald today that she is good!) Andrew is doing very well with his math facts. Gerald has been quizzing him in the evenings. Caleb is adjusting to more work than last year. He has such beautiful handwriting.
Well, it is time to put my feet up and relax. I hope you have a good evening and a great weekend.
