Ka Chow (Lightening McQueen from the "Cars" movie...)

We had a wonderful day yesterday in Chihuahua city. We joined the brethren in the Fuente de Vida church for Sunday School and Worship Service. It was a wonderful blessing to introduce my family to all these dear folks who were my "family" when I lived there a dozen years ago.
We spent the afternoon at Aldo & Rebeca's sisters' house where a large number of the family members gathered (as they apparently do almost every Sunday) and ate lunch, did tons of catching up in our visiting and watched the kids play and interact with the Aldo's nieces and nephews.

(The kids on the church roof looking down - it reminded them about the Bible story where the friends lowered the man through a hole in the roof so Jesus could heal him.)

(Gerald talking with Alex before the church service.)

(L-R: Sandy, Rebeca, Aldo (standing) and his mother!)

Before we headed back to Cuauhtemoc we decided to stop in at Walmart one more time to pick up a few items. The kids spent some of the money that Grandma Reimer gave them before we left Canada. A stop for supper at McDonald's was met with huge "thank yous" from the kids!
We got home around 8:00 p.m. and got the kids to bed. Around 10:00 p.m. a HUGE thunderstorm came rolling through and we had some VERY intense lightening and a deluge of rain before the storm finally moved on. Let's just say that when the thunder immediately follows after the lightening, before your eyes even have a chance to adjust, then you know the storm is close by - the hydro went out for a while and car alarms were going off everywhere from the loud booms of thunder. Amazingly the kids slept through it all.
This morning Sandy did school with the kids again and later she expects to spend most of the afternoon doing more school prep for the coming weeks, laundry, cleaning and meal prep! She is also meeting with Senora Nena, her tutor, this afternoon to go downtown and do some shopping.
